Dad's Gloves

Dad's Gloves.  He was really thrilled with them too.  Part of a matching set including hat and scarf.

I'm not sure it's worth it having the fingers go two at a time except for the fact that they are definitely the same length with no guessing/counting needed.  I still think Two-At-A-Time is the way to go in general cause it keeps me from second glove/whatever syndrome as I do tend to get distracted.  :-)

Second Finger Pickup

It was a brain teaser but I did figure out picking up the stitches for the next finger. It can be done!! Now the bigger question is is it worth it for the fingers? I added two stitched per finger to keep the size around similar to the first.

First finger of each glove was easy peasy to start up and is going well. There won't be a problem finishing these with Magic Loop!

To continue a theme

You would think I'd be speaking about a Christmassy theme at this time of year but no, I am continuing on to talk about my latest advance in the 2-at-a-time world.

2-AT-A-TIME GLOVES!

Since I mastered Magic Loop, I have not looked back.  No more DPNs.  This in addition to pretty much not using straight needles anymore either.  It was only natural that I would try to expand my experimentation!

I looked first.  Searched for hints to doing 2 gloves at once and couldn't find anything.  Am I crazy?  Can this be done?  One would think the hard part starts with making sure I keep the right and left gloves clear.  So far so good.

I'm coming up on the fingers soon though, that could be an issue.  I'm excited to display the progress.

2 at a time!

I'll be kicking myself with these first socks too... I was too determined to really put 2 at a time socks into practice and jumped into some basic stretch tube socks. No biggie... its going OK... but my smallest needle for a 40" is #4 but the pattern calls for #3.

I figured:

Hey, I have big feet, as in thick... a high instep... plus size 9.

It'll be fine.

Well an inch into the cuff and I'm thinking they may be too big around. I dunno. Do I continue? Or do I wait for my accidentally ordered Addi Turbo needles. Yeah, I punched the enter key after I'd entered all the details but was really just hitting it out of habit but now things are ordered! I think I'll live.

Along the same topic though obviously post digression into silly keyboard punching, I think I've got the magic loop/2 at a time sock trick totally mastered!

My First foray into Magic Loop was by accident a few months ago. It was mastered a couple of weeks ago as I worked on my lovely little Lamby Doorstop. Its so much easier than I realized, as most knitting techniques seem to be I am happily finding. Now I am showing my skills off to a confused looking DH who can't fathom just what this purple loopy thing with two different colours of yarn sliding back and forth is. hehe

I'm enjoying a Pushing Daisies full rewatch as I work on my socks. I just saw two gorgeous scarves in a row! To Ravelry!
